A fun and charming series, focusing on comedy, adventure and martial arts action. It may not have much in the way of plot, but it's still far more enjoyable than its powerlevel wankfest sequel, as well as being highly enjoyable on its own merits. Worth checking out at least once for any anime fan.

inspired and frequently delightful. takes a while to find its footing and sometime loses it, but as a whole better than Z, even if it never reaches the heights of the Namek saga

rvw. 100 before cuz dbz my 2nd fav show ever. this was 100 too first time i watched it on ytv, but incomplete, and when i watched it all in like 2010. but now some sagas are pretty meh especially involving pilaf. i noticed way more of the prototypes for Z this time though. and i like seeing Super pay homage. the tourneys are all the best. but surprised i forgot Piccolo JR was the best saga. The first episodes (before Goku fights the Red Army) are anime at its very best. There is a reason why this show was so popular and for many an introduction to anime in general.

Didn't do much for me; preferred Dragon Ball Z.

Ran home from elementary to be on time for the beginning of this show. Good times.

An overall pretty fun series, nothing too impressive overall but it was a much better series compared to DBZ as far as I'm concerned. The show was more concerned with bringing in actual fights{though perhaps not outstanding} and a sense of adventure than how high someone's power level is. Decent comedy here and there, not to mention the cast of characters were colorful, eccentric and pretty memorable. I don't think this show will blow anyone's mind, but it's a pretty decent watch.
