Gets by on its pure, uncut Seussian weirdness. You could fit the story in a thimble, but the visuals are unforgettable.

The Paraphernalia Wagon experience is quite imaginative, but I think we should have left the Grinch reformed and slicing roast beast. This also made me understand an incorrect definition of "euphemism" until 7th grade.

It seems weird to say that a twenty-five-minute program is padded, but hardly anything happens in this; there's as much incident in five minutes of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas as there is in this entire special. It's nice to see the designs from Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book, but there's no meaningful lesson in here, nothing supporting the interesting parts other than an assumption that Grinch = good holiday special.
