This is simultaneously both far better than it should be and still bad. It's basically a long advertisement/prequel for a video game (which actually has better character development for this series' main character) so it is well-produced but the writing is as stale as it possibly can be. If you are a fan of Halo it is probably worth a watch.

I don't really give two shits about Halo and in hindsight have no idea why I wanted to see this anyway (though drugs might have been involved) but it's sorta decent considering it's really just a glorified fan-fic with at times some really decent CGI. Too bad it contains 45 minutes of material that's just like the basic training stuff in Starship Troopers, just without the satire, boobs, bugs and blood. ...Wait, so it's not like Starship Troopers at all. I'm an idiot.
