I went in expecting nothing and found myself in a troll world I got enchanted by. Well done, even with it's "TV animation" look. Perhaps I should check-out the series too,

This does feel like a big budget series finale, but then they made another season? Anyway, good show!

I liked it as a long episode of Hilda, not as a movie.

I haven't seen the series, so I went in this blind. The story is cohesive and lore established well enough that I didn't feel like I missed much by not watching the series previously. The changeling plot is very Nordic and a classic story device for addressing mother-child-relationships. Good movie for all ages and the series isn't necessarily required watching to enjoy this movie.

A reasonably entertaining kids movie, if uninspired and unimpressively animated. I haven't seen the show, but I didn't really feel too lost, although I did have a thirteen-year-old present to vaguely explain, and sometimes vaguely not explain things to me.

While it cannot really stand on its own, this film is a moving and unique continuation of the latest season of the show as adroitly voiced and colourfully animated as it has always been. Its simple tale of empathy is given layers of fun mythology and effective allegory (and just explicit advocacy; see Frida stand up to police propaganda in the classroom) that enrich the ever present fun of the characters and world. A delightful addition to the programme.
