If not for Meachum men, this show is utterly insufferable. Seriously, Ed Sheeran's video for "Shape of You" is more intelligent in terms of writing, character development, fight choreography, and soundtrack. The biggest let down is at no point during the whole season does Danny's character act like a "man" that spent his childhood years in a monastery, but instead wonders around like an idiot teenager. Not just worst of the Marvel installments, but the worst of the Netflix Originals.

3rd time ranking this show. I actually had to go adjust the scores for all my other bottom of the barrel trash so I could accurately rate this below them. It is my most detested piece of media. It has no redeeming qualities. I am obsessed with hating this show. Fuck this monstrous pile of trash. Netflix would do better to burn their money. The cast, crew, and producers should be exiled. FUCK THIS I HATE IT SO MUCH I HAVE MENTAL PROBLEMS

Pretty much like the rest of these series. I'm bored, can we have something original now?

Fortunately, Finn Jones was a solid Iron Fist. Unfortunately, literally everything else is subpar. This seemed really rushed and out of place amongst these shows, lacking any depth or originality. Not to mention, a very slow moving arch with minimal exciting events. Season 2 provided improvement on all fronts, but it still isn't near the level of it's Marvel family counterparts. Being that these shows are canceled, this character would be due a good reboot with a better team.

It's hard to know where to even start when thinking about the problems with this. One thing that is obvious though is that Jones is a catastrophic piece of casting. Massively disappointing.

The hate for this is way overdone: Daredevil & Cage stretched out even less story over too many episodes, but presumably DD's beautifully choreographed but ultimately tiresome fight scenes excuse that to many fans. There's no such problem here as the fight scenes are well below what 1 would expect from a "living weapon". Danny Rand is also a confusing character (he's presumably mastered body & mind but acts immaturely at times). Still, the Meachum villains - esp the brother - are very compelling

W3E1P1S0V1M1A0R1. Finn Jones is dreadful, and I can't understand how a director would not stop every scene and say "stop just gyrating your head vigorously as a substitute for showing any real emotion in every scene!" That same complaint lends to the confused, inconsistent character development and themes everyone else is complaining about. But honestly, I prefer this to all the others save DD Season 1. S2 Update: Tom Pelphrey might be the best actor in television.

An insult to the senses. They should have hired an Asian performer instead of hiring a bad performer who happened to look more like the character.

Enjoyed this series but realized this is just another version of the series Arrow - rich kid disappears, comes back years later as a trained killer. Also, season 1 was much better than season 2. Would rate season 1 a 78, and season 2 a 45

Got better towards the end of the second season. Even explained a bit why Danny was acting the way he was earlier (in season 1 & Defenders). Too bad the show took so long to get more interesting and ended just as the it seemed to pick up some momentum. Not horrible, not good either, so ok it is.

I know I'm in a the minority when I say this, but I actually liked Iron Fist more than most of the Marvel Netflix shows. I could watch Jessica Henwick just pace around all day. And Tom Pelphrey is a great actor. I hate how season 2 ended on a massive cliffhanger, hinting at all sorts of awesome things that will never get developed now. I do wish that Finn Jones was more of a martial artist, and that the action scenes were appropriately more kung-fu...-y.

"Iron Fist", to its credit, starts off in slow-burning fashion, taking its time to establish the setting and characters. It capitalizes on mystery, suspense and a solid cast and, throughout the first season, proves both emotionally engaging and thrilling enough. The second season au contraire is brought down by a flimsy script and soap-opera overtones including some awful pieces of dialogue, but is not without its merits, such as the presence of Misty Knight and the excellent Tom Pelphrey.

Some people seem to think this is the weakest of the Netflix Marvel shows. I don't particularly agree with that. Although there are some parts of the story that don't work as well as others, I like the characters and there's some good action and lore here. It's too bad this show got canceled because it was showing some real promise for what the third season would have been.

The Netflix problem strikes again, with too many episodes to tell the story told. Neither the characters nor the plot are that compelling, though the 2nd season is definitely stronger than the 1st,. The show is never fun, with a lot of brooding and staring, until the final scene of the 2nd season which showed promise for more exciting things to come...then it was cancelled.

Season 1 has great characters, an interesting story and smart pacing. Season 2 decides to throw all that out the window in favor of a slow, derivative story, two painfully bland antagonists, and a complete 180 of one of the first season's best characters' personalities. Don't watch Season 2.

Marvel's first real failure. It is the same familiar formula but without a likable lead character. Danny Rand is annoying at best, woefully stupid at worst. The supporting case does nothing to help this.

Never have I ever encountered a more whiny character since Luke Skywalker. Somewhere during this show we're supposed to believe that Danny Rand is a great warrior, but he comes off as an entitled crybaby in a weak story. Don't worry about missing this one.

i liked the Meachum family dynamics and flawed son trying to pull it together.. but the rest is hard to stomach. the dojo broad's personality seems to change suddenly half way thru the season for no discernible reason. and that ridiculous closing shot cliffhanger, like they couldn't think of anything clever.
