Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story

So Savile was a child rapist and it was covered up and ignored by the authorities. Tell me something I didn't know.

Could this be a single documentary film instead of a two-part part series? Absolutely. But there is something to be said for the painstaking lengths the doc goes to in showing how the nation perceived Savile for so many years and all of his philanthropic work before lifting the veil on the monster behind the good deeds. As an American, I had only heard of Jimmy Savile's crimes in the context of that one Norm Macdonald live episode. This certainly painted a clear picture.

Monstrous. True sociopathy.

The story is mesmerizing, I don’t get it. Since I didn’t know about him before, I didn’t get if he was always such a creep or if he was shown this way because you don’t understand much of his charm throughout the series. It is amazing how he got away with it.. Amazing.. In an awful way.

It goes a lot further than Savile, they all knew and kept it quiet.

The backstory behind the demon helps us understand how devastating this really was.
