Malcolm In The Middle: Life's Still Unfair

It’s quite nice to see the characters again, and this does have its moments. But it just leaves a bit of a ‘what was the point?’ feeling by the time it ends.

Quattro episodi celebrativi, che in se stessi non hanno valore ma che permettono ai fan di rivivere le atmosfere della serie e di versare qualche lacrimuccia. Certo il retrogusto è dolceamaro perché vedere i protagonisti invecchiati ci fa sentire con chiarezza tutto il tempo che è passato. Nostalgia canaglia in tutti i sensi.

I feel people come at this with the wrong perspective. Life's Still Unfair is not depriving itself from the comedy that made it popular but its intent is less on its episodic roots and moreso interrogating its premise and conceit. But given its reception, I feel most watched this wanting to reconnect with the family but it ends up being a bit polarizing when its priorities aren't within the original realm of the series. Am I the only one who can't help inserting Breaking Bad as the middle section of Hals chronology? It's confusing, but makes both amazing (now that's how you do intertextuality).

Essentially just a movie that catches up on the characters, with some getting less screen time than others. It doesn’t match up with the original series, but it’s amusing enough for what it is.

Good revival of Malcolm in the Middle. Although it felt more like a TV Movie special than 4 individual episodes, it was a solid continuation/epilogue of the series. The final episode was easily the best where everyone comes together for the party closure.
