Never Have I Ever

Brilliant first season. What a breath of fresh air in a high school dramedy setting. Protagonist is an extremely flawed person, but the series finds a great balance of reprimanding her of her selfish behaviour while being understanding to her struggles with grief. Excellent romantic growing-up comedy with a hint of tragedy to enhance the flavors of those other genres.

I thought this show was really well written, and feels different than most teen comedies, a genre I might not normally enjoy all that much. Mindy Kaling definitely did a good job creating this show and I look forward to more.

Such an enjoyable ride. Really fun teen characters and Devi as a protagonist is a breath of fresh air. Could do without the romantic triangle, but they're teens, so I am going to give them a pass! It's nice to finally have these shows which are specific, rich in detail and characterization as opposed to bland teen drama retreads.

Season 1 & 2

While there are a ton of things I love about this show, it really all comes down to how absolutely fantastic Ramakrishnan's performance is. Such a richly layered performance, while also staying fun and funny. And I love the writing. Like most great art, the show has that perfect blend of specific and universal. This show is just a real gem. S4 edit: The rare show that maintains a consistent quality from pilot to finale. Bravo.

I LOVE THIS SHOW. one of the best shows i have ever watched

There's a lot to like but the key is probably the extreme charm that Maitreyi Ramakrishnan brings as the main character. The ability to keep Devi sympathetic and likable despite her many, many, mistakes/flaws is what makes her misadventures of her own making a fun ride worth going on.
