Nightflyers

I'm actually pissed off that I wasted 10 hours of my life on this. The early episodes were interesting, and then it went into plot hole galore land, and then still managed to jump a good dozen sharks. Season 1 finale explained nothing and asked too many new questions, but I'm not sticking one more season to figure it all out. At least the CGI was decent. SyFy cancelled The Expanse for THIS? Really?

You can watch it, if you have nothing else to watch. Sometimes it is entertaining, most of the time is "what?!". Something in between Solaris, Sunshine and Matrix. The intro soundtrack is cool, but it gives a sense of adventure that is absolutely missing in the series. Why did they do that? I don't know. Maybe even the producers didn't realize that Nightflyers is just a psicological scifi thriller, where nothing really happens. Not worthy a second look.

I'm five episodes in and I'm still trying to figure out why this takes place on a space ship and not in an old house that oozes blood from the walls and makes moaning noises at night. Feels fairly pointless and spends way too much time dealing with a story line that feels like its been done before instead of expanding on the reason why they're on the ship in the first place.

what a mess!!

Stuff starts happening on episode 7 of 10. Episode 6 could be deleted entirely, the first five condensed down into an hour or two. Telepathic people, and a telepathic ship(?), and telepathic aliens, and room that projects your memories into your eyeballs, and a VR excursions into artificial worlds as a substitute for computer IT work add up to a big mess.
