This was a story that simply didn't need to be told, and especially not like this. But hey - we gotta get those Disney+ subscriptions up, so let's bring back Vader! Again!

i relate to obi having nightmares of episode 1-3, though they seem brilliant now. it sure is disney, every character's a cartoon. it's also written with only the most superficial understanding of the material and produced like a fan film. EVERYTHING is awful, there's no scene w/o a nonsensical move by some character (especially obi) or lame contrivances to advance the "plot". baby leia has no arc, she's just small grown up leia (w/o any of a kid's limitations). the farce is strong with this one.

It helps if you pretend that everything Disney has made is fan-fiction. Oh and bourbon. Lots and lots of bourbon. It makes the chase scene been high-level Empire goons and a 10-year-old girl much more believable. I recommend Maker's Mark but Jim Beam works fine.

Starts unexpectedly w/ a 10yo Leia & depressed Kenobi. Unfortunately it's riddled w/ plotholes. Why does a fire put Vader off Kenobi? Why does Reva use a laser cannon when she can just lightsaber the door? Why does she wait till Vader's NOT distracted before trying to kill him? & adult Leia's great, but a 10yo, WISE(!), know-it-all's an annoying brat. & F Disney for their You're A Racist If You Make A Black Actor "feel in any way unwelcome". If H. Christensen were black, he could cry racism too.

Lmao Disney really Disneyed this one up my bros. How the hell did they think pairing Obi-wan up with a wise-ass little kid sidekick the whole season was the play?

Absolute trash. He is a side character in his own series. Also, the writers don't care about continuity or respecting the original masterpieces at all. Such a complete shambles of a show.

This might look like a story with a plot, but it is just a rehash, a snake eating its own tail, it has nothing to say. Baby Leia is adorable and the cast is good, but this show has nothing to say about anything, no emotional stakes, emotional conflict, engaging characters. The public is invited to connect some dots in all aspects of what makes a story. Very flimsy show. Also, the 'story' is kinda the same beats as Mandalorian: loner guy is forced to protect kid??

When will we tire of this 'weaponized intertextuality', where joyless foreshadowing becomes the industrial replacement for meaningful plot? I wonder how its all going to end...hang on a second, no I don't.

F$¢¥ you Disney for creating this abomination. There are almost no redeeming qualities, everything is bad or atrociously bad. The writing is completely incompetent, full of plot holes, complete nonsense and directly contradictory to the source material. The writers and director should be fired and banned for life from working on any media format. The rights to Star Wars should be removed from Disney ASAP. Absolute trash!

So, after the Mandalorian, and The Bad Batch, another Disney+ SW original series is centered around finding/protecting kids? And to start it off, you had to turn Kenobi into a coward, too? smh.

Not only does it have the cinematography and apparent production value of a 90s fantasy TV show, the writing is arguably worse (at least those shows were fun). This is more dull, bleak, meandering garbage from Disney's Lucasfilm which has consistently proven it doesn't understand what made Star Wars so special in the first place.

After a couple of episodes that teased the potential of this post-prequel tale, the show took a nosedive into bland and uninspired filler territory before sort-of sticking the landing in the final episode. But ultimately it’s a missed opportunity wherein the titular character’s story mostly seems to serve as a coat-hanger for other stories, but for a moment it managed to get me excited about something relating to the Star Wars prequels, and that is an achievement in itself.

I want to like this. I love Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan. Didn't need young Leia. Didn't need an off-world romp. Could have used more Darth Vadar, but better Darth Vadar writing. Last two episodes were really, really solid. Geez, I wonder if the token representation evil character will experience some sort of redemption arc.

Rough acting/casting, shallow characters, and poor storytelling. Why are there so many goofy and slapstick elements incorporated? In the past, it seems like Star Wars has come to try to derive comedy and charm from clever and quirky lines, but that writing is not here. Instead we're watching some dude get bonked on the head and acting like a dizzy cartoon character about it, or seeing how many times a few guys can trip over some tree roots.

Tremendous character driven story about an understandably broken man who has to find his peace within to morph into the wise old man we see in 'A New Hope'. It's not flawless, but I can live with the flaws because I love the story they are telling here. Best Star Wars content to come out of Disney in my opinion.

Disney once again shovels money into one of the most popular franchises to produce an underwhelming and uneven product reeking of overabundant corporate interference. It deserved something more like Andor, yet a deeper character study, slower pace or darker tone were likely considered too risky. Ewan is great but squandered. Actors were hindered by sketchy directing and plot logic, bouts of poor dialogue and some setting/character designs more reminiscent of cosplay from Disney's Star Wars park.

This series was frustrating. There was a very interesting premise of a PTSD-riddled Obi-Wan hiding on Tatooine and being called back to action that was just ruined by the same thing that Disney has brought to the table for the franchise: poor direction and dumpster-tier writing. The fight choreography here was a large step back too, reminiscent of the "underwater stick-waving" we had over 40 years ago in Episode IV. A few good performances from a select few actors kept the score off the floor.

I think this is more like a one long movie. (I wish they'd made it a movie.) An I liked that movie. Of course there are elements bothered me a little but overall, unlike episodes 7,8 & 9, this feels like Star Wars. It convinced me that I'm watching the galaxy far far away. So, I let those bothersome details go. Also a big thanks to the adult cast as they really tried their best. It shows...

Points of it, yes, are abrasive - some acting choices are flat-out jarring, and all the fight scenes happen in a straight line for some reason - but each episode improves. Leia’s portrayal is tenacious and endearing, Vader, finally, lives up to his terror, becoming as much of a slasher movie boogeyman as Disney legal council can allow, and Obi-Wan’s arc holds the gravity of two suns. Most of it can be skipped through but the last 40 minutes elevates the original series, shows, and the prequels.

The writing is terrible, and I'm constantly distracted by the bad, overused CGI. I think what annoys me most is how serious everything is, humor was always a big part of Star Wars and it is totally absent here. It's really unfortunate because I think Ewan does a great Obi-Wan, and I love getting to see Leia as a kid. As an edit, I will say that each episode has been better than the last, and by the fourth it is actually pretty good.

Excepting parts of the last episode, this felt inexplicably cheap and poorly written. For the biggest franchise in history made by the biggest studio there is, it's inexcusable.

A snooze-fest. Completely miscast and I don't like any character here. Even McGregor seems like he's sleepwalking at times. I did enjoy Reva's premise but it's buried amidst boring kid antics. The contrivance that Luke and Leia now met and had adventures with Obi-Wan before New Hope is ridiculous.

I went in blind, but with the impression that this had higher highs and more to it than Boba Fett. It suuuuper doesn't. Not sure I can trust anyone's critical instincts if they think OW is better or more entertaining than BoBF, which is superior in just about every technical and creative aspect.

I quite enjoyed it, though it was weird to see an older Anakin in the flashbacks. Like, come on. They de-aged James Earl Jones' voice for Vader, you couldn't take a couple of years off of Hayden? Ewan McGregor was the tits, though. Makes me want to do some heroin.

This should have been better. We know all the pieces are there to make it better. But it isn't. It's just not bad. It makes some mistakes with having Darth Vader, but not enough, and having other antagonists taking time. None of them can possibly be as interesting or as threatening as Vader, so its a waste of time. Young Leia isn't unbelievable, but is at times very distracting. You can watch it for the canon, but its about all you will get out of it.

Is it perfect? No, but there is a LOT to love here. Ewan is obviously perfect, and I loved getting more of him. I went in expecting the story to take place mostly on Tatooine and focus on watching Luke, so I was pleasantly surprised when we had more locations and the inclusion of Leia, and I thought the girl who played her did a great job. It was also awesome to have Hayden Christensen back. Maybe too long, but still pretty solid imo.

This would've been a spectacular film -- probably slotted just under The Last Jedi in terms of Disney's track record. Because, ultimately, there is only about two hours of worthwhile story going on here. And more so, this would've had far less visible seams. If Disney is going to produce SW TV, it needs to pour movie-sized money into the productions. McGregor is the only consistency here. His withdrawn, traumatized performance is -gasp- new and engrossing to watch.

Obi-Wan is fine for what it is. It’s entertaining, it’s fan service, and it’s quite harmless to the overall arch of the Star Wars cannon. That’s the thing though…this just feels ridiculously safe. Disney electing to play this so bland and by the numbers for a beloved character is super disappointing, especially because a lot of this show doesn’t even feel like Obi-Wan’s. I really don’t feel like this did anything to be honest, and could’ve been so much more if Disney wasn’t scared.

So, I have read a few Disney Star Wars comics which I need to mention, because there was also an Obi-wan story in the comics and that story happens SHORTLY BEFORE this Kenobi show. However in that story Obi-wan wasn't showing signs of depression at all and that's my main problem with the TV show. Somehow Disney is on the level where they don't try to be consistent even with their own Canon. Otherwise you can probably enjoy watching the show a single time, but you won't remember much.

Imperfect. Sometimes it felt like the ideas they were going for weren't fully fleshed out, some threads were dropped and don't go anywhere, and there are a few minor plot holes, but it was always entertaining and overall I loved it. Also, that one chase is certainly... something else lol.

As a huge Star Wars and Prequels fan, I'm probably biased. I just loved seeing both Ewan and Hayden back in their roles and their dynamics in this series. But it does lack in a lot of aspects, such as the writing. If they end up making a second season, I'm hoping they can improve on those.

Beyond a doubt one of the most pointless pieces of television ever created. Not a single part of the story makes sense and every canonic character is gravely misrepresented.Kenobi himself is worst off by far, with McGregor's worst acting yet and being written as a selfpitying, selfdoubting, impatient old coward who's actions make no dent in the course of events whatsoever.Third Sister's arc is unbelievably random and Part 3,void of all logic or proper dialogue, has to have been written by a 6yo.Avoid
