Really changed comedy on television with its blatant silliness.

A short-lived but uniquely hilarious comedy of sight gags and wordplay.

"Cigarette?" "Yes, it is." At its best, it's like the best of Airplane! and The Naked Gun movies condensed into a television show.

Way ahead of its time. The sight gags are usually great, and give you something to keep an eye out for. I also appreciate the incredibly over the top WTF moments. There are some reoccurring jokes that may have gotten old if the show had more seasons, but at just 6 episodes, they’re not too bad. Episode 5 is a standout for me, but the 6th episode isn’t up to par with the rest. I saw this before the Naked Gun movies, so I’m curious to see what direction they took.

I really enjoyed this show in my late teens, and I still find its mix of all types of humour (wordplay, parody, slapstick, general silliness) hysterical. For just six episodes, it's more tightly packed and much less baggy than its (still pretty funny) movie adaptations.

A hodgepodge that only works as well as it does because of Leslie Nielsen.

A brilliant series ahead of its time and on the wrong medium at the time. If you like Naked Gun, it's worth tracking these episodes down.

"Police Squad!" is a milestone of comedy boasting the late great Leslie Nielsen in top deadpan form and Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker's trademark absurdist visual and verbal humour. Certain episodes (looking at you 2, 5 and 6) are less funny than others, nevertheless at its best this short-lived series is jam-packed from the opening titles all the way to the end credits with hilarious, original and flawlessly executed jokes in its very own, singular and certainly highly memorable brand of humour.

Possibly an underrating.
