Hayami became interested in voice acting while attending elementary school. In 2004, she attended junior class of Nihon Narration Engi Kenkyūjo, a voice acting training school. She was curious how Audrey Hepburn's voice was dubbed after learning that what she heard wasn't the actress' original voice. She recalls how she left a flyer for the voice acting school on the kitchen table, only to be told by her mother to pick up the phone & call herself.

A spy, an assassin, and a telepathic girl come together to form a makeshift family - and wouldn't you know it, hijinks ensue. Has its share of the usual anime silliness, but overall it's a really fun little show with endearing characters, cool action, and a lot of just-plain-wholesomeness.

Fun, but I wish the plot moved along a bit more frequently. It's ridiculously slow progressing. Seen through season 2.

The core of the show is its wholesome family dynamic moreso than the deception each character engages with as that's more an underlying conflict than what the story engages with. Much of the series sits on that comfortable status quo which make a lot of episodes hard to engage with, especially when they often repeat the same small scale conflicts. However, when it does multi-episode arcs is when the show peaks and the mundanity of the family dynamic ends up becoming meaningful.

It is particularly entertaining, a bit out of the mold of standard anime, doing some meta-references perfectly and pushing the limits of absurd without being ridiculous, while being somehow heartwarming at the same time. I think that the way Anya talks is hilarious in Japanese, even without fully understanding it you can tell. I read one of the manga, and it had a darker tone, but I really like this adaptation; it rekindled my interest in anime. It loses a bit of steam towards the end though.

This series is pretty good. For me, Season 1 is the best; it made me laugh a lot. I love the characters, and the opening and ending of Season 1 are a work of art. I will watch the next season when it comes out.

If only it could have maintained the heights of the first (of 13) eps! It is a good idea and does have some laughs (mostly involving the very young "daughter", whose role is well written). Against that (even for an obviously not to be taken seriously) tale it does somewhat overreach itself and many eps have scenes that drag - too much is left so we can have a second season. Nicely animated and there are far worse time suckers out there. Some strong reminders of 'Get Smart' but nowhere as good!

A fun little light story about a family where every family member has a secret, and the only one who knows it all is too young to know what to do about it. Not every episode is as strong as every other, but I still had fun. Looking forward to the inevitable season 2.
