Scavengers Reign

Extremely creative and visually fascinating but becomes dark, creepy, and tedious after a while.

Stunning art, fleshed out characters, mid story. The planet feels like it was made around the human's necessities by having creatures that work as gas masks and plants that conventionally can be used as energy cables. The characters felt, until the cycle of bad thing happening and they get over it of every episode before the last ones gets boring pretty fast, Kamen is straight up evil, Kris is an asshole. The progression and end of the series is just unsatisfying for me.

A stunning display of sci-fi, with probably the most in depth dive into alien landscapes, flora and fauna that I have ever seen. The ideas of how a foreign world's ecosystems work, with all pieces of the puzzle in their places is amazing. The fact that it won't be getting a second season, is testament to how monumentally insipid we are.

The characters interact with the ecosystem with too much ease, which didn't feel plausible. Great premise though.

It is not an overstatement that this studio has created a fully living world with this masterpiece about resourcefulness, ecology, and spirit. Eons of evolution are manifested here from the minds of these artists, and the human characters cast down onto that planet are just as well realized. This series is gripping from beginning to end, and the concepts and animation are a pinnacle of the craft.

The mystery of what could be... Brilliant.

Even though some would have you believe otherwise, style reigns supreme over substance here. The plot is fairly pretextual, and those less aesthetically inclined may indeed get bored waiting for the characters to finally reach the ship—though there are admittedly better moments in this regard .I despised the obligatory modernist/liberal tropes on display: the masculine women, the weak or unstable men positioned as protagonists and antagonists and the unnecessary non-heterosexual romance subplot.

Strong start, descends into some relatively boring anime character tropes toward the end.

Scavengers Reign deserved more seasons.

the visual storytelling was what made the original so good, so the addition of dialog made this very mediocre.
