Strong start with a gradual slide into mediocrity over the seasons. Still has its moments.

Wow, after 5 minutes in I was hooked. How has this series been flying under my radar. Incredible entertaining. Must watch.

80 because first three seasons are fucking fantastic. Seasons 4 and 5 are not bad. Season 6 is soap opera garbage though and by season 7 it's obvious they're flogging a dead horse. Still, those first seasons..

Incredible cast and stories. Brilliant way of editing scenes by loading one character after the another.

Just marathoned the first four seasons of this on Netflix and I have to say this is one of my favorite TV/pop culture experiences of the year so far. Reminiscent of another show I loved, Parenthood, but with a grungier street level view of things (and a cavalcade of naked breasts damn near every episode, which I'm not gonna complain about). Frank can be annoying, but all the Gallagher kids are great characters to watch. The show is funny and relatable and moving. Great twisted family show.

Shameless peaked early. The first season is untouchable, a few later seasons still hit, but everything after Deb’s puberty and Sheila’s exit mostly just passes time. The show works best when it’s raw and chaotic. Once it starts feeling polished, sponsored, and self-aware, it loses its edge... except whenever Frank shows up. William H. Macy carries it on his back. (last seasons are almost pure trash)

First six seasons were a incredibly good. Funny, dramatic, well played. Strong drop from the S7 to the very end. Terrible attempts at social commentary took away what was great about the show. The last seasons had a general change of concept into a pitiful gag-like comedy drama. The lead actress' departure should have ended the show, but the creators continued to drag the show further. Watch until season 7 and maybe add last few episodes to see how it ends. The rest is not worth it.

What a show, until the very end, you never know how shameless it can get. Makes you fall for the Gallaghers although they are all toxic and agents of chaos. A great run in tv history.
