The worldbuilding on this show and the portrayal of the jedi and clones brings far more nuance to these groups than the movies ever did. While many of the episodes are "filler" the way each arc focused on different characters and worlds was incredible. I wish new star wars series would follow this formula instead of devoting a whole show to a character.

Seasons 1-7: While it's hard to rate this series due to its episode/arc style and the varying quality of each of these, I think this does the universe way more good than bad. It's cast is consistently good and its treatment of the characters within the new Disney canon is effective, especially the new Asokha Tano. A must watch for a Star Wars fan.

Gets a LOT better as it goes on. 3PO and Jar Jar are still annoying as hell, Ahsoka Tano grates at first but gets a lot better. Loved seeing a lot of characters I'd only read about (Cad Bane, Assaj Ventress, Aurra Sing etc) but I'm still unsure how I feel about Bossk speaking English. As is the case with most shows, the final few episodes in each season were outstanding -- particularly the appearance of Maul! Oh, and how dope was the animation? Loved the animation of the Darksabre too!

Like any tv series it has it's issues and inconsistencies but overall it's a very likable batch of star wars tales. Season 1 is kind of a mess, season 2 is better, but season 3 is where it starts to get good. And just a tip: Skip the Jar Jar episodes, they are the embodiment of annoying.

The first season, like the movie, is a little childish. Luckily as it progresses, the show matures and darkens. Longer story arcs are brought in and not only are they enjoyable, they're Star Wars. This series re-contextualises what the prequels should have been.

For years, I thought The Clone Wars was just a kids’ show. Bright colors, odd animation, cartoonish characters… It didn’t help that it aired on youth networks and that many long-time fans simply ignored it. But what a mistake that was. Beneath that first, childish impression lies one of the most complex, mature, and emotionally powerful works in the entire Star Wars universe. Yes, the first two seasons can be confusing. The chronological order jumps around, there’s filler, and not everything se

Starts of pretty dumb and childish but gets better as the show progresses. It doesn't always land but when it does it's really good.

The first season is abominable, but eventually this show turns into something solid and provides some of the best Star Wars moments I've seen. The 4 last episodes especially deserve praise for their filmic ambiance, dialogue, emotional richness and fantastic score. Better than any SW film.

While it has some really bad arcs (even some I skimmed through), I must say the best ones are truly up to bar with the movies. The later seasons, especially 6 and 7, are amazing. One of the best things about Clone Wars is that it makes the clones feel human, all with some distinct traits. Rex, Cody, Fives, Echo and many others that we would've never known about without the series. Also not forgetting about other great characters like Asajj Ventress, Cad Bane etc.

I think the writers missed the part where you have to make you care until you speed up the action.

You can't call yourself a Star Wars fan if you haven't watched this series. Yes, it starts out slow, but each season gets better than the last (at least, up to season 5), and the series ends in one of the most incredible ways with the Siege of Mandalore storyline that could rival some of the theatrical movies. The Season 5 finale arc is also one of my favorites, as is the Mortis arc.

mostly watched at x2 and bg so score should probably be less. it coulda been a great 2-3 season show if they just focused on the clone conspiracy maul mandalor ani ah etc shit. ah kinda becomes a good character by the end but never stops mostly making things worse

[through season 7] The first season, like the pilot movie, is terrible, but some the arcs in later seasons are truly excellent (though the show stays very uneven for a while).
