Thought I was done with Star Wars until some friends insisted on showing this to me. And you know what, it's pretty cool! A bunch of anime studios bringing Star Wars back to its Kurosawa-inspired roots. Not every episode lands, but it's overall a good time.

Not a single episode in Visions lands but it's such an outlandish novelty I couldn't help but be interested in it. There is something inherently funny to me about how Visions goes balls deep into incorporating samurai imagery into the series, having the culture behind the franchise come full circle. The direction is jarring for typical Star Wars fare and a good number of episodes were pretty weak in terms of visuals, but stuff like The Twins episode blew my sides for how outlandish it got.

Star Wars has never really been wholly original, drawing heavily from Samurai films, so Visions brings it full circle with mixed results. The animation varies each episode, and while people will have their preferences, it's decent. The designs often feel more feudal Japan than Star Wars, and the characters vary substantially. This lack of consistency combined with the writing contribute to a mixed bag. E05 being great, E02 being bad, with a lot of mediocre in between.

While the animation and character/world designs were often great, the stories themselves were really boring (9th Jedi being the exception)
