Finished season 3, this started as a kind of cute show in a time of lockdown where people needed some comfy fantasy and it was nice. The cracks start to show early in S2 with a saccharine to the point of vomit xmas episode. Now we have S3, which is filled with interminably long plot lines with zero juice and the vibe/humour is cloying to the extreme. Its success was its downfall and it's probably for the best it has now been put to sleep.

(S1:75/S2:40) S1 balances positive, lighthearted comedic elements with depth, pathos & fairly dynamic characters. S2 is a soulless husk that seems designed by committee using some script generation algorithm developed by a marketing team in order to replicate the first season's success . Unable to comprehend how the show revealed its heart to viewers in S1, they tore it out & just tried jamming it directly down the viewer's throat with every trite, stereotypical & saccharine gimmick possible.

I don't have much interest in soccer but I do like Sudeikis so I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. The entire cast does a pretty good job, and although there are plenty of sports stereotypes, the whole thing is handled with care and skill so it never drags it down. I would definitely watch more of this.

It's honestly just refreshing to watch something where the main character is wholesome and nice and the message is positive.

Season 1 is a really endearing show filled with lots of loveable characters and lots of fun jokes. I really enjoyed it (75) Season 2 I couldn't finish because it lost what made it special. There are some jokes there, the characters are all still there but everything's just much worse. It's all down to execution. If you wrote down the plot points of S2 down, it would seem good but the execution is rushed and worst of all, not funny and forced. (35) Maybe a S3 brings it all home.

Ted Lasso is the hero we didn't know we needed in 2020. What first appears like a gimmick flyover show is actually a deep down character exploration with an incredible ensemble cast in the likes of Cheers, The Office, and Silicon Valley. Full of fantastic dialogue, full belly laughs, and even some tears along the way, this first season was absolutely solid and made me feel all the feels.

Season 1 was really fun and light hearted, avoided all the tropes other light hearted modern TV series fall for, it was unique. Season 2 not only lost its way, but also introduced a nauseatingly bad relationship between Sam and Rebecca. The kid's 21 years old, she's in her 40s, and she's his boss. Anyone who hangs out around people in their early 20s knows they're still teenagers. The show went to the trash bin when they insisted on making Sambecca a thing. And the rickroll eulogy… I'm out.

The most overrated show I’ve ever seen!!! It’s not funny, not morally redeeming, and wraps itself all in this soap opera-like aw-shucks cheese. I really do not understand why so many people seem to like this show.

This show has it all. The characters are genuine, funny, and passionate. The main character is infectiously kind and lovable, you can't help but root for him. Surprisingly pensive/reflective without coming across as sappy or cliche.

A super strange show for me personally. I did quite like it, but I could easily list a lot more things that annoyed me about it than what I liked. I understand that the show doesn't even try to do anything but be kind of a feel-good thing, but isn't that kind of a cheap excuse to fall short in many other areas? I don't know, it's finished now and I did like it. Even if it often annoyed me.

The most captivating art of the early 2020s have been earnest depictions of being human, willing to say that it's not cornball to be emotionally open, to address our problems with ourselves and others honestly, respectfully. Ted Lasso might've been the catalyst. It is not a show about football. It's about forgiveness, comradery, acceptance, growth. It's about the path to peace and how it looks different for everyone. No other show has made me cry as often and happily as this one.

I didn't expect to be so enamoured by Ted Lasso, but the show is delivered with an earnest heartfeltness that is hard to dislike. The entire cast is great, though Temple's my favourite. Having the football punters as the audience proxy, eventually warm-up to Lasso is also a nice touch.

I was suspicious about this show, because I can't think of a more boring sport than football. But because I like Jason Sudeikis (and because Criticker gave me a high PSI), I decided to give it a shot. Turns out the show is not really about football at all. It's about friendship, love, and community. The writing is gold, and I laughed out loud on a regular basis. On the other hand, themes such as mental health, family dynamics, and death, had me in tears. Such a wholesome and heartwarming show.

An absolute fucking treasure. S1 was just tons of lighthearted and good-natured fun, and very funny. Definitely less funny in S2 than S1 (and I particularly didn't care for some of the more "out-there" episodes in S2), but S2 did have some really excellent character development and I especially appreciated the focus on anxiety. Finally, Sudeikis is solidly in my top two in the category of people who can make me laugh through dance.

Season 2 was mediocre, 3 had some really trash episodes switching the focus on Keeley and her stupid pr company. But towards the end they managed to find the balance that made the first season so good and finished the story with a great final episode.

It was a slow start to get into it, like some people are slow to appreciate Ted Lasso, but by episode three, I was there. It was light-hearted with 'laughing on the inside' type of comedy. However, I didn't feel the second season as such, with the Beard episode, the funeral one and the whole Sam/Rebecca. Most comedies fluctuate in quality, but with these series it was quite a fast and sudden drop. The show ended alright - on a high note, with a happy ending for all characters.

I'm a soccer addict. But this show is about as much about soccer as "The Office" is about paper. I remember seeing the original NBCSN Ted Lasso commercials, where he was managing Spurs. Anyway, the show is pretty good, but I wouldn't call it incredible or a "must-see".

I'm struggling to not make the comparison to Game of Thrones but there it is, I said it. The brilliant start of Ted Lasso falls apart, slowly throughout the second season, but by the end of the third it's all at once. Production quality dips noticeably and the script-writers, when they aren't starting and ending pointless story-lines, are constantly demonstrating their importance through silted dialogue. At least we'll always have Season 1 and most of 2.
