Temple Grandin

I'd never heard of Temple Grandin before, but she's clearly an extraordinary person and I'm glad I got to learn about her in this film. The way in which autistic people think differently to other people is really interesting, and I liked how they showed it. Claire Danes was very good in the role - I soon forgot it was her. It's fairly typical in terms of biopic films, but I emotionally affected and never bored, so I call it a success.

Inspiring, powerful, emotional drama based on the real life of a Temple Grandin, whose mother courageously refused to accept what the medical establishment told her and in so doing helped her daughter to find a life of her own. Winner of 7 Emmys, including Clair Danes for outstanding lead actress and Julia Ormond and David Straithairn for supporting actress and actor. "Temple Grandin" is exceptional among movies made for television (an HBO production).

One of HBO's most memorable original films.

Aside from being a good portrayal of an important topic, it’s also well paced, and has a superb lead performance from Claire Danes. Pretty good for a TV Movie.

This movie is always at the periphery of my thoughts on any given day, relatable to something in some way. It's really memorable and special. Says a lot and isn't saccharine & corny like these sorts of films usually are.

Must watch.

10?"I am different, but not less. "

Well done and entertaining movie, but an incredible performance by Claire Danes. She did win the Golden Globe.

"I'm like Nikola Tesla or Thomas Edison, I know my system will work 'cause i've been through it thousand times in my head." (Temple is a professor at Colorado State University and lectures worldwide on autism and animal handling. In North America, over half the cattle are handled in humane systems she has designed.)
