Subpar and predictable. The flashbacks felt irrelevant and out of place. John Malkovich is as good as always, but he doesn't have much material to work with.

I think the mystery was done well here, as was John malkovich as Poirot, but there was something offputting about the presentation that left me slightly disappointed overall, even if it was otherwise well done.

A hilariously obvious attempt at turning Poirot into Prestige Television. It shoves in an immigration metaphor which *should* work - prejudice against immigrants is one of the biggest issues of our time - yet somehow falls flat. It turns the murderer into a Hannibal-esque, or perhaps Joker-esque, nemesis to Poirot. But most ridiculously, it gives Poirot a backstory which belongs to a character who is monumentally different from any version of Poirot in any medium. Also it's just looooooooooooong

Interesting, a couple of things I did not like: the flashbacks to the past of Poirot—and the way he was portrayed if we compare it to the TV Series—, and how it got resolved. I liked Rupert Grint performance, since the last time I saw him smoking I think he learned how to do it.

La serie non è fatta male ed ha un buon cast, ma non capisco perchè stravolgere così il personaggio di Poirot, dandogli una tridimensionalità che non possiede e di cui forse non si sentiva il bisogno.

A darker, brooding take on Agatha Christie. Malkovich's Poirot comes off as much more human, though the genius and attendant arrogance is still present. Overall, it's a welcome change from the Christie adaptations of the past. Very chilling.
