The Gifted

I liked the series a lot. Very early on it finds a rhythm that pulls you in and, unlike others in the same genre, there are barely any slow patches where everything stops and becomes heavy. Something is always happening, there is always conflict, danger, a chase, or a decision that pushes the story forward. I also like how well it works as a mutant series without depending on the most famous X-Men names. It has its own space and its own... - Full Review

I liked the idea of an X-men universe based series, a family of mutants. The first season was actually pretty decent, but the second season became pretty boring to me and by the end I wasn't bothered that it was canceled.

watchable

The Gifted has some decent mutant action in a post X-men world. Unfortunately, the show is a mixed bag, marred by some bad acting and dialogue. Most of this disappointment is delivered by White, Chung and Samuels who seem to be the focal point of whining teen melodrama. The 1st season is better than the 2nd, with a better story arc.

It gets many things right, like an original X-Men spin-off story and an interesting Days of the Future Past-like setting. Great characterization, particularly Polaris, Esme, and Thunderbird. A bit on the too-dramatic side for my taste but not unbearable. But even though the production quality is quite good, they are limited by the budget, so I can see why it couldn't go beyond 2 seasons. A pretty good try, though.

The first season has such a good promised start but that cant be carried on through the whole season...

I didn't last long, gave up 4 episodes in. Not a bad show, but, as with most Marvel/DC franchised TV, it looks poor. Subpar writing, subpar actors, meh special effects, not engaging enough plot-wise to keep me going.

it's watchable.. the basic story has potential but the dialog writing is terrible. some really bad acting. hopefully they mix it up next season.
