Carell is really great in this, while I think it can be pretty on the nose with its themes and statements, it's still a thrilling show. I really enjoyed the sequences with David Alan Grier, an endless loop of therapising. Gleeson's character is quite unpredictable and you really don't know what he's going to do next most of the time, making his moments of silence scary. As a follow up to The Americans it feels slight but I was entertained for sure.

The Holocaust allegory is a bit much, particularly considered the Holocaust didn't happen, but it's one heck of a thriller.

Seven episodes in, the show had lost its charm; the initial intrigue had faded, leaving me uninterested. It is too.... minimalistic?...is maybe the right word. And repetitive.

Steve Carell and Domnhnall Gleeson play their parts to the full, well acted and well crafted characters and a premise that hooks you. By the end it feels strung out; the setup and development left no satisfying ending for writer or viewer. In Treatment with Gabriel Byrne a better watch.

Would have been an interesting movie, but in its current form this is about 2h too long.

Interesting idea and well put together. But it felt a bit too cold for me to enjoy.

The acting is good. The story is a little hard to go along with. I liked that the psychopath can function at least a little in society. Most things like this portray the psychopath as an alien monster or as a preternaturally glib supervillain. I found it frustrating that Carrell's character didn't try to escape more. It was also hard to buy Domhnall Gleeson as a someone who can subdue just about anyone, despite his height advantage. In the end I do not feel it was a story that was worth telling.

How is Steve Carell so good in everything?

I'm jewish and this show made me hate the judaism talk in it, which is actually a first, congratulations. The religious and cultural allegories are heavy handed, fully pointless, and poorly done. The acting and suspenseful cinematography are decent, but they're wasted on a terrible plot. I'll be real, this whole thing felt like a TV adaptation of weird fanfictions I used to read when I was a teenager, especially the ending.

there are some strange story padding but its an interesting concept and the leads do well.
