The Tick

[through season 2]

Why do I like this? I end up putting this on when I don't want to have to pay too much attention. There is something charming about it.

Season 1 = 50/100 Season 2 = 50/100 It's not a terrible show, it's not really good either, but worst of all it's not the Tick either. Saying this is the best of the live-action versions of the Tick is not really a compliment.

The tick is a fun show. It feels like it was written like one of those primetime cartoons aimed at adults, but as a live action comic book story. It's absurd, and not everything works perfectly, but there's plenty of fun to be had here. I'm also a fan of Valorie Curry so I liked her here. I would have liked another season.

starts well but degenerates rapidly

Neither the humour nor the action really worked for me in The Tick. Serafinowicz is great; Newman was too whiney; the rest of the cast was just there. The entire show just felt stilted.

Lots of style and no substance. Fun to watch. Slightly bummed out that it got cancelled, but won't cry over it.

Completely fun.
