Sitting there in the stands absolutely gobsmacked at the amount of people throwing their popcorn and drinks at the players ... are they all millionaires too?! I enjoy watching the public freakout videos of fans fighting in the stands over sports, something they have absolutely zero input in lmao you toss in some athletes thumping in some schlubs head I'm hootin'

I have read people questioning why this doc only focused on Pacers players. I think the reason for that is because the doc is about the squandered potential of that team because of this event. The Pistons were fine. They had just won the Championship, and then they lost a close match-up to the Spurs in 2005. I don't think their perspective was necessarily needed in this shorter doc.

Builds up a great first half but the second is a little disappointing, mostly involving hearing these players pleading iffy defences about sticking up for their mates and how throwing punches is equal to throwing liquids. I remember seeing about this incident on the news, but much bigger, involving way more players – you certainly don’t see that here, despite some guff at the start about exclusive unseen footage. Not being an NBA fan the significance of the bans is lost on me.

A very good look at a story that was very much given the perception of something it was not. Fans do not have the right to assault players no matter how much money you pay for beer and tickets. This was unfair and David Stern allowed systemic racism to create an image that suited his narrative. The NBA has never looked worse than their reaction to this act. This documentary finally allowed O'Neal, Artest and Jackson the ability to talk about how much this one night changed their lives.

Terrific, excellent production, but probably most suited for those who remember the incident.

Good account of such a reminder of how TV shapes public opinion (maybe forever, because bursting initial expostion just can't be matched) and sometimes amplify ugly things such as systemic racism -- and how not the brawl itself, but the post-brawl damages entire careers. Also, Jermaine and Ron's own stories before and after that night, man, that is tough.
