It makes perfect sense that a movie about a controversial subject does not present a clear cut favoritism either way. Jack is Pompous, Merciful, Uncaring, Dramatic and Sympathetic.

`Jack Kevorkian: I have a religion, his name is Bach. Johann Sebastian Bach. And at least my God isn't an invented one.` Great drama about Dr Kevorkian`s fight on euthanasia. Impressive acting from Al Pacino.

It's a good movie. Very moving and carried by a spectacular performance by Al Pacino. Contrary to e.g. Ford and De Niro, Pacino is one of the few actors who haven't lost their touch over the years.

The best Al Pacino has been in a long, long time. A creepy and unsentimental portrayal of an important figure I'd kind of forgotten about.

Al Pacino was OK, Jack Kevorkian not.

Might be Pacino's last strong performance, and hopefully we get another great one before he calls it quits. The direction was okay at best although it was nice to see Goodman hanging around. But outside of the aesthetics the film was well-rounded and despite obviously leaning towards one side, it still allowed the viewer to come to their own conclusion. I myself am in total agreement with medically assisted suicide so it was nice to see the subject finally tackled in American cinema.

An understated, sure-footed performance from Pacino carries fine biopic; supporting cast including Vaccaro, Huston channeling his father, and Sarandon's tower of strength all equally compelling. Perhaps the very nature of the story makes a certain repetitive quality ineveitable as Kavorkian continually turns up to court, ridicules the status quo and is chastaised by a judge, but the film still broaches its controversial subject matter with taste, honesty and intelligence.

Strong performance by Pacino. You really feel sorry for the guy - mostly because he in my opinion is right. Damn that american legal system is a stupid one.

An incredible film and story of just one part of a great man's life. He was ultimately a victim of the medical industry; he was killing the hospital's cash cow, by allowing the sick and tormented to end their own lives.

A great biopic on one of the most controversial figures in the 20th centure, Dr. Jack Kevorkian. This has one of Al Pacino's best performances in decades.

A fascinating biopic with a stellar performance by Pacino. As a typical leftie European, the story of Kevorkian had largely passed me by. Even given the obvious bias this telling has, it's still an eye-opening account of the lengths private healthcare interests and religious extremists will go to to prevent the work of someone who dares to stand up for human beings at the expense of profit.

A decidedly sympathetic view of Dr. Kevorkian, and makes a convincing case. Nicely paced, great cast, dramatic and often gloomy, touches the moral issues, but it's still a rather formulaic American biopic and probably could have been deeper. I recommend it for what it is.

I have a feeling Pacino's career-best-or-close-enuff turn as Roy Cohn in ANGELS IN AMERICA steered him towards this series of American pariahs (PHIL SPECTOR and PATERNO being the other two) as a kind of late-career legacy-stamping. This is the best of the three all around and the most important in light of "progressive" efforts to erase all agency from suicide. I'm not conflating terminal cases and healthy folk. Real insanity is thinking no sane person could possibly choose to leave this world.
