A romantic thriller, severely lacking in romance and thrills.

Definitely a cozy Sunday matinee style thriller, but it’s great fun in its gentle way, with Apted directing a fine cast to pull the viewer through a very complicated (and historically fascinating) story. Felt like more attention was given to Scott and Winslet’s faltering romance than delving into the cryptography itself, which was probably the more interesting element. Still the cast delivers, especially Northam who gives a deliciously flippant and cynical performance worthy of a Hitchcock film!

Interesting that they used the Katyn massacre in the story but suggested that there was 3000 Polish murdered by the soviets when in reality it was 22000 massacred. Also, a wild Mick Jagger appears.

If you're going to present a highly fictionalised account of historical events then try to make it bloody interesting!

Kate Winslet and Dougray Scott are standouts in this wonderful entertaining spy thriller that keeps you guessing from beginning to end. There are many tense moment that accentuate this well paced story of wartime intrique. Music was well chosen and there is a lot of excitment as well as excellent dialog. Don't be put off the the first act, it gets better the deeper you get.

Awfully dull.

Interesting film that ultimately doesn't really stand out.

I really wanted to watch it and I had every good intention to give it a good score, but unfortunately it just didn't impress me that much... However, the cast is good and it's an alright movie to pass the time.

Reasonably entertaining film about codebreakers during WWII (and a factual antidote to U-571). The story is complex, so much so that towards the end they have to periodically explain things to us. Surprisingly, Kate Winslet keeps her clothes on.

Why did I have to go to Enigma in stead of Minority Report when they both came out??? :(

Almost as bad as the book.

An interesting look at that period of time without all the pow-pows and bang-bangs.

Retro WWII thriller set against the backdrop of Bletchley Park, where England's best and brightest gathered to decipher Nazi codes; a few unbelievable plot developments, but energetically directed, featuring a top-notch cast, with Winslet, as usual, superb.

Ok..I am extremely partial to Kate...but it wasn't a bad film anyway...

Pretty boring for a suspense/thriller, I'd say.
