Something about this rang absurdly hollow. Maybe it was the obviously very wealthy person with the obviously very wealthy person house talking about minimalism. Maybe it was the overly forced focus on showing them saying "I'm a hugger!" to emphasize the ~real human connections~. Maybe it was the fact that they CLEARLY bought a shitty car for their tour for the image. Maybe it was the fact that everyone who says "you can do this too!" clearly has a massive financial base to work from. Who knows?

I love the narrators podcast, website & ideas, but the movie is noticeably weak for it's important subject. Also it's inconsistent and the dramatic elements seem forced.

It was below my expectation.I would have loved to see more daily lives of true minimalists instead of an ad for these two insincere guys' book.

Interesting and timely topic, but this documentary provides a very high level glimpse into the phenomenon and related issues. The main duo are interesting enough, but it feels more like an account of their book tour than a proper documentary about minimalism. Some aspects, like how minimalism works when you have a family or are not financially secure, are briefly mentioned but not really explored. Then there are some parts that feel like pure filler to extend the length beyond a TV special.

polished and poorly done. i was expecting the data to speak for itself, but instead there are people repeating same boring stories about their lives.

Two wealthy yuppies, chocked full of enough confidence to play teacher on a subject they're just learning about for themselves.

Interesting enough idea, but ultimately does nothing to dissuade against the idea that you have to have solid financial security in order to do this successfully.

I quit after 10 minutes. Started off about corporate media fueled consumer culture post ww2, but then went off on this puff piece of two guys trying to hustle a book.

Extremely important message despite not being the easiest one to convey in a documentary format.

Barely watchable, somewhat interesting, but the way they execute it makes this incredibly dull
