This is the movie equivalent of that feeling you get when you suddenly think you've missed something important and are in the wrong place. Nobody seems to fit in this carnival of characatures. Limited plot, unsuitable casting and bad rather than black comedy. I'd need plenty of novocaine to watch it again,

The beats and overall arc of this noir tribute may be familiar, but there is considerable joy to be had here from the droll comic sensibilities (echoes of THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS) and performances from a terrific cast – Martin, Carter and Dern are unexpected casting choices that pay off in spades, with Martin especially good balancing his ostensible “straight-man” duties with a nod in the direction of the absurd. If the final act collapses and becomes a bit arbitrary, it’s a small price to pay.

I presume someone has notified the Hague about Danny Elfman's score for this movie?

I laughed when I watched this movie. I guess there are just some actors who make me laugh regardless.

This is a really underrated crime thriller. Not the kind of movie you would associate Steve Martin with.

An underratted little thriller that features Steve Martin doing what he does second best - playing the bad dude in a mystery of sorts.

Well, at least now i know whoever was responsible for the inexplicable, singular brilliance of Arizona Dream, it sure as fuck wasn't David Atkins. The Mellow song during the end credits was easily the best thing about this.

Another strange and quirky movie. Didn't quite work as a comedy for me, but actually worked more as a crime thriller. Steve Martin totally underused and mismatched for the part.

A movie I picked up on a lark and ended up enjoying immensely.
