Officer Downe

I don't know what to do quick shake and zoom the camera at the same time

I'm going to be very lenient on this one. I don't like "Officer Downe" because it has good acting, or directing, not because it has awesome action, and not because the dialog blew me away. It has none of those things. I like it because it's absolutely insane. And maybe I am too for enjoying it.

In a recent media interview, Korn was asked, "is Shawn Crahan the best film director in the world?" To which Korn replied, "Shawn isn't even the best film director in Korn." To which Obama replied, "Even Obamacare doesn't cover that sick burn." 4 points for...uh...nuns, or something.

Moronic science, cheesy plot and dumb dialog in a farcical story about an immortal policeman routinely resurrected to fight crime. It skips way past unlikely and lands firmly on absurdly stupid. A good setup for outrageousness. Unfortunately, they added idiotic supernatural nemeses. The low budget is out staged by bad writing and amateur costume design. Entirely unimpressive music and special effects. It needed a lot more humor and/or good action to be something other than incredibly tedious.

No-budget grindhouse wannabe.

I never would have checked this out if I wasn't curious to see what Crahan could do with a feature film. It's not even that it's terrible. I would have given this a passing grade because of how gleefully violent and silly it is, but what fails it is that the action sucks. Most of the time it's just Downe standing still and shooting people, with some painfully uninspired and boring camera work. It's stylish with lots of flashing everythings coming at you, and it is entertaining sometimes.

What a let down, I was hoping for "Hardcore Henry" instead I got "Crank" meets "Tank Girl".

Probable score terrible. Right again criticker
