While occasionally the comedy really works, the picture stays firmly entrenched in amusing when what we really want is gut busting.

I don't think this movie achieved much and I was not entertained by it. It's a pretty slow and humorless movie.

Attn: Steve Martin....Stop. Just stop please before you do any more damage to John Cleese's career.

Not Martin's best, not his worst either. Isn't New York great?

Martin and Hawn play affable enough characters. The storyline runs a bit thin for my taste but if you like cute this one works

It aims extremely low and fails at achieving even its mild comedic goals. I just feel bad for Steve Martin here.

Lack-lustre remake of a movie I wasn't crazy about in the first place.

If you want to watch a much better version of this movie see the original 1970 one with Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis! It even has a cameo of Sly Stallone as a possible pickpocket!

Ahh, now I get it. Apparently I'm just not high enough for advertising. Ok. I love comedy with a message.

One of the very worst films I have ever endured.

For a big part, "The Out-of-Towners" rattles along in brisk pace, running on an amusing array of awkward situations and the chemistry of Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn, with John Cleese offering some delicious support. When it does reach the final act, though, it does start to feel a little overlong, eventually going out with a fizzle instead of a bang. An overall harmless comedy with the "middle-aged American" factor too strong. Wife, kids and work is all you need, folks.

A light, relaxed movie. Nothing special, had a few laughs. Surprisingly, I found Goldie Hawn funnier than Steve Martin. I giggled more on her scenes, rather than anything involving her male counterpart.
