I love Shirley MacLaine and this was a good vehicle for her. The costumes are great, and seeing the series of seemingly unlikely actors portraying her doomed husbands was fun.

Well-deserved Oscar noms for Set Decoration and Costume Design, but 1960s comedy is deadly in general and this is no exception. The satire is so broad and silly it becomes meaningless. The appeal of Shirley MacLaine continues to elude me.

Newman and MacLaine are excellent, and Van Dyke is quite good as well, but the other leads offer nothing, especially Mitchum sleepwalking through his role.

Gene Kelly and Paul Newman's segments are probably the most entertaining, but the rest of the movie just kind of coasts. Didn't really have any big laughs.

Shirley MacLaine is great in the lead role in this motion picture. There are plenty of fun fantasy scenes and the cast all seem to be having good time here. There are some funny moments, overall I would recommend this film.
