The_Herold

Striking visuals and likable characters all wrapped into an interesting plot that sadly fizzles out quite in the final season. Lenore is best vampire. Fight me about!

Black Summer (2019) - Rated 24 Sep 2021

I can't say that the subject matter is original however think that Black Summer presents the fatigued "Zombie Apocalypse" genre in an interesting way. If you are a fan of zombies and characters pushed to their limits then Black Summer is an easy recommendation

Kate (2021) - Rated 24 Sep 2021

You are not missing out on anything by not watching this. It's the typical revenge plot with a heroine that has nothing left to lose and with a predictable twist halfway... Performance is mediocre and the action is enjoyable however for a movie that focuses on the Yakuza and takes place in Japan I cannot help but be a little confused as to why the protagonist and antagonist has been cast caucasian.

The Battery (2012) - Rated 24 Sep 2021

This movie is a great example of performance over location. The majority of this movie takes place in very few locations but the character duo drives home this movie. I can almost smell the stench of the interior of that car... [shudders]

Judge Dredd (1995) - Rated 24 Sep 2021

I don't know if I love or hate Stallone's performance but I can't deny that Judge Dredd is an entertaining movie but maybe for the wrong reasons.

Alien 3 (1992) - Rated 24 Sep 2021

I feel that Alien 3 is a movie that splits the waters however I like it very much for its bleak and ominous atmosphere. It holds up in all areas execept for the cgi special effetcs. Luckily there aren't many of those. If you watched Alien 3 back in the day and didn't like it then consider sitting down and rewatch the "assembly cut".

Resident Evil (2002) - Rated 24 Sep 2021

It's cheesy and the cgi doesn't hold up well but I can't help but love this movie for what it is. A fun, gory zombie flick that doesn't take itself too seriously.

The Avengers (2012) - Rated 24 Sep 2021

An epic action flick featuring your favourite super heroes. It's pretty, it's loud, it's jam-packed with action.
