It might be slow, the acting can be a bit spotty at times and the zombie make-up is not that convincing. Despite these flaws, The Battery is still the best zombie movie I've seen in years. It really hits home the horrible loneliness and monotony of what surviving the zombie apocalypse must be like, and is more human and believable that many of its big budget competitors to boot. The final segment is amazingly nightmarish.

Any good low-budget movie knows how to turn its own flaws into strengths. "The Battery" can't afford huge crowds, so it's a story about dealing with an empty world. It can't afford big action scenes, so it goes with claustrophobia. It can't afford a big cast, so it has the two leads stuck together and grating on each other's nerves. It doesn't have much of a plot, so it's a movie about the boredom after the world ends. Who needs perfection? This is an optimal zombie movie that hurts.

The acting can be a bit dodgy, but forgivable for amateur actors. Most of the points are for the very impressive final act.

This movie is a great example of performance over location. The majority of this movie takes place in very few locations but the character duo drives home this movie. I can almost smell the stench of the interior of that car... [shudders]

The best zombie film I've seen in a while - the set pieces are really well done considering the budget and the final half hour or so is incredibly harrowing...

A post-zombapocalypse bro-mantic road trip with very few zombies and a lot of playing catch in Canadian backwoods. No fleet-footed rage zombies with 28 hours to dine, no Pitt-sniffing undead clambering to make flesh mountains for quick access into Zion, no giving birth to zom-babies in an abandoned mall. No, just some dudes shooting the shit in-between shooting zombies and/or shooting their loads while masturbating to hawt zombies. Er, what?

Considering this was a really low Budget Movie I was very impressed. Really liked the two characters. Funny dialogues and somme good exitement even tough the zombies was so bad that it looked like they had used 50 cents on makeup on each zombie. Most Zombie Movies makes the main characters out to be super heroes but in this one we saw a more likely reaction on how most People would react. Good stuff!

Too slow and just drags on til the climax, which was legitimately good. Should've been a short film or part of an anthology.

Good for what it is. It isn't a comedy or horror though. It's just survival in a lonely, empty world. At 1 hour 40 minutes, I would have liked it more minus the extended shots that last 5+ minutes where nothing happens. If it was 1 hour 20 minutes with none of these shots, it would have been great considering the shoestring budget.

This was a decent movie with a decent story and decent performances but it really just didn't speak to me.

Nicely done near-zero budget zombie film. Some familiar scenes and themes - by now impossible to avoid in this particularly narrow 'genre', I suppose - but also some invention and a certain wit. More like a depopulated world than a plague of the undead much of the time, which has its own horror, albeit that of the characters' boredom and loss of purpose - alienation which puts some needed limits on buddy movie-ish male bonding dynamics, though maybe not quite enough in the end. Still, not bad.

It takes a while, but The Battery eventually builds up to an excellent finale.

some parts just feel like an extended hipster-music video, others fall short due to the low budget, especially in terms of make-up. the acting is mediocre at best, an intentional lack of motivation or story only works for so long, the ending REALLY(!!!) drags, and yet...yet there are some good ideas. the small scale depiction of two townie losers in a zombie apocalypse can perhaps best be compared to the far superior "shaun of the dead". the latter just being infinitely funnier and better made.

A zombie movie that is not like what you might expect, which is a good thing, but that is not to say this was a good movie. Extremely low budget and it really has nothing much new to say. I especially disliked the Annie character and side story premise since it never made much sense nor was it explained. It basically boils down to a movie without a message, and as such, is pretty forgettable.

It took patience to get through (especially the beginning needle drops), but I feel lucky to have stumbled upon it because other zombie fiction like this doesn't exist. Without my realizing, the characters endeared themselves to me through not comedy, but humorous situations, and not how loveable they were, but how real. There's not much plot. Much of it plays out like a home movie, but the intimacy works; for the runtime, they became my family, and I loved them.

Would have been much better as a short film. There's a lot of filler, and by filler I mean leaving the camera linger on shots for what seems like an eternity, complimented by a hipster soundtrack. Oh, and there's a "sex" scene that comes completely out of "left field" Yup....made a pun!

The Battery has that magic independent feel. On one hand, I would like to have that type of friendship with one of the last people left on earth, but on the other hand, I could do without someone shutting me in a room with a zombie.

A different perspective taken than most zombie apocalypse films. No clichés, some different ideas, good acting, and a story that managed to keep me hooked.

A pretty unique and subtle take a pretty tired genre. Each of the two leads isn't necessarily the most likable character, but they bring an earnests to the situation. A few too many needle drops, but I liked it.
