Bill Burr: I'm Sorry You Feel That Way

Burr's still going strong, and I love how dark his material tends to get. The helicopter bit had me laughing and cringing in equal measure.

Probably a little biased because I got to see him working out a bunch of this material about a year before this special. But I was crying laughing when he told the story about a guy trying to commit suicide by jumping out of a helicopter, so maybe I'm not biased, maybe it is just that funny.

Some more really solid work from Burr. Not sure on the choice of black and white, but it didn't distract me.

I saw Burr working out some of this material earlier in the year (yes, this is me bragging), and it's just as strong as my memory (I didn't need to mention that I saw him at all). The religion material didn't get much laughter in the crowd that I was a part of (even though I was laughing), so I am glad that he kept the material for this special.

The best in the biz doing his thing. As an avid MMP listener a lot of this was rehash but you still can't help but love Bill, it's just watching a master perform his craft at the highest ability. The black and white was annoying and unnecessary but if you feel inclined to see someone defend Donald Sterling and make it funny, watch this.

Bill is hilarious, as usual. One of the best working comics in the game.

It looks great and Bill Burr continues to get even better. Wicked standup!

My complains are its too long and rambling and Burr's oversimplification of sexual politics continue to be outdated. Apart from that, this shows all the reasons why he is so good. He has such a brilliantly cynical and violently misanthropic view on all sorts of aspects of modern society, but occasionally pokes fun at himself as well. I saw him live not too long after this and I would've given that an 81.

A good special ranging from some great, laugh-out-loud moments to a couple of awkward jokes, with everything in between being comfortably above-par and amusing but no more. The B&W is an interesting choice and Burr displays consistent energy throughout the 80-minute duration. His tackling of cancel culture somehow manages to be both provocative and levelheaded, his attack on religion is enjoyable, and him cracking an array of gun jokes in front of a gun-friendly audience surely is a highlight.

Anti-politically correct but still left of center? Reminds me of someone I know. This being my first special of Bill's I must say methinks it be pretty darn swell but I wouldn't go so far as to call him the greatest performing comedian. Very emphatic and brings a lot of energy to his act and wonderful storytelling bits. A lot of comedy directed toward men or the [alpha] male perspective. Which can be a positive or negative depending on who you are.

This man is deeply offensive but also very funny, he started a long few weeks of watching stand-up that I can't get back.

PUT A FENCE AROUND EM

Solid performance by Burr. Sometimes his jokes come across as low hanging political posturing but his jokes about the helicopter suicide and the homosexuality of draft season were gold.

Burr is probably the funniest stand-up comic working today. I exclude Louis C.K. because he's become an entirely different beast.

Bill's specials can never compare to how great he is as a guest on Conan, but I'm not sure that's possible, so we'll just have to settle for generally great.

Blown away by this special.

Well, it's the same Burr I remember from his previous specials: alpha dude telling funny stories about himself, relationships, sex, etc. I'm not a big fan of this stand-up type, but he's one of the best, if not the best, at it right now.
