Some bits linger a little too long but I’ll give a half-star bonus because even if he’s not telling jokes he’s making great points. The sections on female sports and homeless people are brilliant.

Ol' Billy Boy largely plays the hits, with a little different flair. The new material is solid.

Burr's typical rage is still present, but whereas before he was able to make it seem both relatable and come from a surprising angle, now it feels mostly typical, just old Gen-X boomer getting angry at technology, then discovering through a shroom trip that his anger comes from childhood family dysfunction -- not hugely illuminating or original, and this could be forgiven if there were jokes throughout, but I hardly chuckled much through this. Picks up in the last 10 minutes.

Burr going over the same old tropes. Solid, but not exceptional.

I think it’s time to wonder beyond feminism and daddy issues. As much as I nihilisticly enjoy those topics. Burr has given his best bits on the subjects earlier.

Probably Burr's weakest special. The one good thing about it is that, miraculously, it's not boring: Burr knows how to present himself and his jokes, and "Live at Red Rocks", filmed at a beautiful ampitheatre, is far from a drag. Yet it's also far from funny; much like recent outings by Chappelle and Gervais, it's a straight-faced, repetitive, obsessive opinion piece on topical issues and, at its best, a rehash of erstwhile poignant moments. Is the state of comedy in the US and UK this dire?
