A very good detective show, the plots are a bit not on par with the overall production value but the atmosphere and acting is top notch.

It is hard to dislike Michael Connelly's hardboiled detective who hybridizes Luis Mendoza, Spenser, and Philip Marlowe into a tough ex-military LAPD cop who has intense drive and a good nose for critical analysis. This series tries to update him into a 2000s character, with mixed results, and streamline his adventures into an episodic series, mostly doing well. The action is good but the brooding yet unemotional Bosch makes the show.

I just want to ask this: what's your point? This thing tries to be "the next The Wire" so badly... it hurts to watch. The Wire has a large cast and a city of interesting culture whereas this series has none of it. From the first episode, The Wire is interesting and this is just dull. It's just a boring, monotone, uninteresting piece of work. I'm sorry but how this thing made it for 7 seasons is beyond me. And they say in some scenes a chair played Bosch but nobody yet found out or yet complained

TV: Consistently excellent police procedural show that nonetheless somehow gets better season-on-season. Compelling long-form arc storytelling in the best traditions of the genre, with a slick, thrilling presentation which is very much its own style. Great acting, directing, photography. Overall Bosch is every bit the equal of outstanding crime drama shows of the past.
