No issues with the casting except for maybe Brandy, though I totally get that she was at her peak. Fun musical. More interesting than most other Cinderella renditions. There's only so much you can do with the base story which is definitely B-tier and threadbare. Bernadette Peters could have passed for one of the stepsisters. What happened to Paolo Montalban? Fan scene: I love period ballroom dances.

Being the made-for-TV disney adaptation that it is, it has a diverse cast, but most of them play 2D characters. This is not without the merit of making this iteration so mesmerising, and honestly iconic; Black Queen, White King, Asian American Prince. Aight, I'll take it. You also get a great dose of Costanza

I appreciate how they tackled the issue "Do you love her because she is lovely or does your love (first impression) make her lovely?" But I had an issue with them having ONE medley they played over and over and over..
