The sound engineering & levels are a bit misophonia-inducing, and the flat vector art is not the prettiest, but content wise it’s hilarious, albeit jarring & a little disturbing.

Defining cartoon of its era.

I was a bit old for Dexter's Lab when it first came out on Cartoon Network. I was vaguely aware of it, and must have caught the odd episode here or there when it was on. It's kinda a classic for those kids born just a few years after me, so it still comes up occasionally in memes or as a reference.

OK cartoon show. No story Continuity.

One of those shows that I watched a lot of as a kid, but I never really enjoyed it that much despite that. I was a weird kid. The humor does nothing for me.

The Looney Toons inspiration is pretty obvious from the word go. It does just enough to be interesting as children's entertainment.

Has a healthy fan following for good reason: it took a fun concept and went wild with it. This is a show that had and over-the-top rivalry one episode, then would subject Dexter to only being able to repeat one French term in the next. Superhero segments with an actual freaking laughtack would air one day, and the next day Dexter would motherfucking murder a bully with dynamite in his dodgeball mech. It was a kooky, funny show with fabulous artwork.

So so kids show.

Fun. Liked it when I was younger.
