Probably the only daytime talk show that I might - MIGHT! - not immediately channel surf past.

I have very little understanding of the seeming cult that surrounds this series, as evidenced by the scarily joyous and worshipful studio audiences that are shown in each episode. All I can say is that it seems like much effort is expended in engineering adoration for the host, just the first piece of evidence for which is the fact that her name appears twice in the title of the program.

Ellen was funny once upon a time, when she was doing stand-up in the late 80's/early 90's, back when people just THOUGHT she was a lesbian. She suffers through the same thing that all comedians do eventually; i.e. becoming old, safe and boring.

Yeah... no.

Her show is actually ok. I watched a couple of episodes and she was different than your normal type of comedians out there. Again no story line continuity but I see why a lot of people like her.

For those that don't get too hung up on labels, the Ellen show's a delight, as the host is genuinely good-natured and funny.

Ellen can be charming and funny at times. Indeed, this is perhaps the best version of this kind of show. But it's still not worth watching.

Deserves a 1 or a 2 but I'm giving this a few points because of how entertaining that Twitter thread was, when Ellen had her second coming out as a bonafide psychotic.

Ellen is moderately funny, far more so than Oprah, but that same cult like mania exists. The crowd is so insanely amped for the smallest of things, you can't take anything seriously.
