Yes, nostalgia drives a lot of any sense of liking this show. It was a bit clunky in its execution and it shows. Emotion is largely absent or mishandled. It did have a few interesting concepts in its mythos and lore, however.

I'm not immune to nostalgia, but thinking about this rationally, I wish there was better stuff on TV for me even as a 6-7 year-old.

Nostalgia only here folks. Poorly written and animated this was a toy commercial that worked very very well.

Even as a child the stories were weak but I loved it for the unusual soundtrack, wonderful background art and strong character design -visually at least- Skeletor is the best baddie ever. Even the cheapskate re-use of animation seemed a strength, certain clips becoming endearingly familiar, visual catchphrases. Animation seems even rougher and stories even worse now but, can't rate any lower because nostalgia.

This isn't my rating from present day - I've never had the nerve to go back and watch this as an adult - but I was obsessed with this cartoon and it's action figures as a kid. I still feel a tinge of excitement when some old school He-Man commercial appears in my nostalgia social media feeds.

Ok cartoon. Don't like the fact that he man is practically invincible and that Skeletor looked really weak in this.
