Only aliens bent on conquering our planet and strip-mining it for resources would not like this.

The best blu-ray purchase you can possibly make. Life is a wonderful, beautiful and breathtaking series.

The photography is even more impressive than Planet Earth's, although slightly less naturalistic. But the most lasting impression for me may be an increased appreciation for the incredible complexity of animal societies. A must-see even for those who might be put off by the frequent animal-on-animal violence.

I still prefer Planet Earth but this is beautifully filmed and is interesting all the way through.

What makes the best Attenborough series so great is not just the quality of the photography (here surpassing PLANET EARTH) but the effort to locate and record in really incredible ways the most remarkable examples used to illustrate the presenter's points. The scientific content itself is inherently limited by the very large scope of the program, but the material is in general fascinating, although the viewer inevitably wonders how long many of the species have left. Blu-ray preferable to DVD.

Just as good as Planet Earth. Not that I can tell them apart.

One of the most ambitious nature documentaries to date, Life could force even the most bored biology student to have a new appreciation for the beauty of the world in which we live.

Somehow even better than Planet Earth, with even more stunning photography, more interesting animals on display and a better and more cohesive format. Don't trust anyone who doesn't like this: they're not of our world.

A beautiful follow up to the groundbreaking series Planet Earth. It's every bit as good, and its lower comparative score is only justified by the fact that Planet Earth had already paved the way for me to see what was possible in the world of nature documentaries.

I love BBC documentaries. Its not just taking some record about animals or ecology. BBC Documantries are really the pieces of art.
