Pretty solid comedy with a lot of really fun characters. In some ways it does feel a little like modern family, but the episode structure was different and I liked the way it told shorter stories that built together, and overall I felt that there were more laugh out loud moments in this show despite Modern Family lasting longer.

Life in Pieces is reminiscent of early seasons of Modern Family in both content (large family dynamics) and tone (wry comedy), though perhaps a little edgier. The cast is great, and the multiple story format works well, though some sub-plots occasionally miss the mark.

The 4-in-1 episode format works well in today's hectic attention-deprived, internet-driven abundance of content. Have 5 spare mins? Great, enough for 1/4 of an ep. Zoe Lister-Jones is the major standout here, great comedic timing. S1: Started as a generic mediocre sit com, but picked up pace and towards the end of the first season reached a comfortable level, with some episodes taking a more courageous leap plot-wise. S2: not as good overall and drops the score down. S3: lots and lots of cringe

[only first ep.] Seemed a really bad sketch show to me, apparently a sit-com. Crap enough to not bother with a second chance.

This show has a pretty stacked cast - I can't remember ever seeing this much name talent in a CBS sitcom. And its single-camera format and attempt at incorporating sketch comedy techniques is interesting, and makes it pretty different for CBS. Getting past all that and into the meat of the comedy, it's... passable.

Dark/Ironic Look at Life. I don't know how it isn't British.

Good for a few laughs but feels a bit to much like a poor man’s version of modern family. Writing and character development rapidly declined in the last seasons.

[season 1] decently funny though not every episode is a hit. the quick 4-in-1 format is nice but sometimes the stories are a bit rushed
