Marvel Zombies

This might have caught me in a generous mood, but I actually really dug this. It's not amazing or anything, but I was invested in what they would do with the story, and it was a smart way to use some of the not so successful characters from more recent MCU waves. Its definitely NOT for kids , so it has some fun gruesome cartoon violence. I would watch more of this.

Lots of fun to be had with this one. The show brilliantly brings together both elements and characters from across the MCU to create an Infinity War-style saga. At some points the writing can get silly and there are story beats that don't make much sense (like Wanda beating a Hulk powered by all of the Infinity Stones), but in all, it's a very creative way to bring stories from the universe together.

Has potential to be great. A good start.

Marvel rarely lets itself go this far. Marvel Zombies starts at full speed and never slows down, throwing its heroes into a hell of blood, chaos, and dark humor. From the very first minute, it’s clear that the studio is having fun breaking its own icons — literally — and reveling in its own madness. The animation is stunning: fluid, violent, and visually powerful. Some sequences feel straight out of a 90s comic, packed with raw energy and... - Full Review

Ok series. Some really solid conceptual ideas going on, but I feel it lacks substance, with an intriguing but somewhat underwhelming conclusion.

Narratively and character wise there are issues, but I had a real good time with this and I thought the relationships generally worked. Visually great, fun action and that’s all I really wanted from it.

Well-animated and doesn't shy away from the gore one would expect from a zombie show but I wish we weren't stuck in the Marvel film universe and with the C-list characters, at that.

Not as good as what if, but there are a few entertaining moments.

Sold itself as a dark and brutal zombie series, which it has moments of. But it also cranks up the MCU quips and humor to 11 for some reason, with every character having to comment and react to everything that happens. Aside from that, it’s pretty gory, and there’s a lot less plot armor than I expected. The action scenes are pretty good, and episode 4 is fairly solid as it focuses more on its strengths than its weaknesses. I’m open to it continuing, but it needs to fix the tone and writing.

Misses the appeal of the comics by making everyone a generic dumb zombie when the zombies being intelligent with their own agendas is what made the original so effective as a horror. This feels very Zeb Wells, in that it aims for edgy shock value rather than emotional catharsis and has this vibe of not wanting to take anything about its premise seriously while in the same breath thinking its drama has weight. It has a few cool scenes but it's so daft on the MCU's lore and the writing is cringe.
