Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical

If ever a movie deserved to be ripped apart, its Reefer Madness, and this does a delightful job of it. For some strange reason Kristen Bell is the hottest woman on the planet in this. Go figure.

Are you all fucking high

Feels the kind of the stage musical that young free-spirited artists present in university campuses. There are a few very funny musical numbers, but satire is often too straight forward. Enjoyment of this film increases a lot if you have seen original 30's anti-cannabis propaganda film.

Enjoyable. The musical numbers are creative and there's a tremendous energy and verve to the performances. My only complaints would be that the joke goes on a bit too long, the satire gets a bit one-note, and Kristen Bell ought to have more scenes. Fun film nonetheless.

A hilarious and surprisingly catchy musical, though it occasionally drags slightly. The casting is excellent, and the direction gets the satire just right.

Everything it ever needed to be, this is a smart & charming riff on one of the dumbest "movies" ever made- & it's pretty cool. Bell shines here, showing off her signature spunk & underrated singing chops, & the rest of the cast is great too. Alan Cumming is fantastic, & so is Christian Campbell. The songs are catchy, the scenes pop, & it really feels like a stage play on screen, which I loved. That said, it runs a bit long & doesn't always stick the landing. Still, check this out.

A Loucura de Mary Juana estreava há 15 anos nos EUA. Só acho que esse filme deveria ser mais cultuado do que é, tudo nele é uma delícia, as músicas, a coreografia, o tom satírico, os atores, mas quero salientar aqui sobretudo o brilhantismo de Alan Cumming. DVD Imagem Filmes.

This was much better than it had any right to be, given the subject material and that most satires are one-note laughs. Kristen Bell is smoking. Biggest problem is Bell raping a guy but I'll give it a slight pass since the original had a guy raping a girl. The movie's also slightly too long but I'm glad they didn't waste time with the tedium of the courtroom scenes from the original. Fav scenes: Little Mary Sunshine and the burning at the end.
