Roast of James Franco

This was supposed to be a roast, not a murder! Some of those jokes cut Franco real deep...but you'd never know it by his high as fuck face.

Credit where due, some great sets. Virgin Leggero, usual roast shit actually funny. Lo and behold that Hit Joke from Apatow's standup comeback about looking like a rabid antisemitic caricature is here in the same form, said by Seth Rogen about Nick Kroll, whose face the gag fits so much finer. Not that Catskills comics weren't doing the same bit when George Lincoln Rockwell was selling out Madison Square Garden. I'm just saying, imagine Nick Kroll wheezing and grinning and reading the Protocols.

Hader left a bloody mess.

As far as roasts go this one was undeserving and not very good. You are not iconic James Franco.

I'm a big fan of the Comedy Central Roasts in general. They're at their best when the roasters actually know the roastee and the roasters are actual entertainers (and in particular, comedians). Here, we get that in spades.

Amusing bits here and there.

Can't review it like a movie because it is not. This is the first Roast I watch and I think it was funny, the standups had some different styles and some jokes where really good, but you have to be familiar with the characters.

Bill Hader was awesome!

The best roast of them all. Not because of James Franco - he is quite insignificant and the jokes towards him were mediocre, since no one cares about him. The comedians roasting each other were fabulous, especially Azis and Natasha.
