Has a different feel than watching the two original cuts, and works great really. The chronological order really is evocative of a novel's linear narrative. The added footage does not seem redundant, the film is taut, fat-free, and riveting.

This is how I saw The Godfather for the first time, and watching the two films separately has never been as good for me. Powerful filmmaking.

I understand Coppola needed the money for Apocalypse Now but besides that it doesn't make it any sense... Don't get me wrong, the editing works fine, but this version just doesn't deliver the same mood as the original films.

Solid edit (it would be really hard to fuck up), but nonetheless better viewed as two separate films.

An epic, vigorous tale of the old days.

One question...why? The first two Godfather movies are among the best films ever made. It makes no sense to re-edit everything together to fit a TV audience.
