Pretty Sure Comedians like Ferrel are away that to make a good piece of art you have to discard a lot. but not greedy production companies. theyll toss any shit out there to make a few extra bucks as long as the hype lasts.

I'm not sure if I'm meant to review this. It's sort of a DVD extra feature more than anything. I will review it. It doesn't work, and isn't very funny.

they shot so much footage for the original film that they took the parts they couldn't use to make another film? cool

If this was the original version of the movie, I am glad they changed it a lot. It's far less funny than the film it became.

Thinking this would be a great surprise, I popped this in my blu-ray player. To my surprise, it was terrible. 'Anchorman' is a great comedy, but 'The Lost Movie' features a slew of cutting room-floor material that was cut for a reason. I will concede that the experiment is admirable, but ultimately a failure. There is maybe one good scene in the entire thing.

It picks up near the end but they do a really sloppy job overall of hiding that it's padded with recontextualized alternate takes. Should've just made it a bit shorter.

It's more or less an extended cut of deleted scenes from Anchorman masquerading as a sequel. Not even close to the near-perfect comedy that Anchroman man is, but still worth a watch if you're a big Will Ferrell fan.

Definitely has its moments but it also drags on towards the end. Recommended for diehard fans of the original...

It falls short of ANCHORMAN in terms of the plot, but makes up for it with a few scenes that offer very original and fun comedy.

Obviously not as good as Anchorman, after all the best takes were for the original movie. But there are some funny things too.

I can't figure out for the life of me why this was made. I only watched it because it came free with my copy of Anchorman. I'm not sure I ever finished it.

Better than a movie made up of extra footage and a cut plot should be, but no where near as funny as the original. It does have its moments though, but could have used more Brick.

This straight-to-DVD companion piece is a sequel of sorts: a collection of alternate improvised takes and sub-plots that landed on the cutting room floor, strung together by an overly expository narrator. There are a few worthwhile moments, but all in all, this is pretty painful stuff. A lot of fake laughing at unfunny jokes, which only serves to make them even less funny. The tie-it-all-together narration is better than the 'movie' itself. These scenes were cut for a reason.
