Wow, Marvel released something to Disney+ that's actually worth watching. Whaddaya know.

Is it going to become a classic? No, not likely. But it was a cool tale with a clear vision that was not distracted by the larger universe.

I love werewolves. I love the visual sense here. The old-time aspect doesn't feel like a lame gimmick. That scene when Jack transforms and you see flashes of his silhouette on the wall... beautiful. Great soundtrack of course. I didn't want this to be a Marvel comedy fest and it really wasn't, though there were certainly jokes (and some worked well). Was even nice seeing some blood. I love Marvel but it's nice to see them branch out a bit too.

One of the better Marvel products to come out of the MCU in a while. While I love some of the more recent movies, this strays away from the formulaic structure you may be more familiar with.

Marvel should let their filmmakers create work like this, instead of their formulaic cookie cutter superhero origin story BS. Giacchino gets the source material, but adds to it a retro feel of a Universal horror film. I was most surprised by how great the fight scenes are--calling back to the best of the John Wick franchise in both stunts & blood. And as a monster story it understands how humans are often the real villains. It only loses a point for a silly MacGuffin. Highly recommended.

Homage to classic horror that introduces monsters to the MCU. The story was basic , the acting was strong, the sets and some of the visuals were strong. Overall good effort here.

Werewolf by Night is simply alright. It's a seasonal special with a Marvel logo slapped on to sell a tribute to vintage monster stories. It's well made, but not particularly interesting.

I never really got into the MCU hype train, so this only got onto my radar because it looked like and IS a straight up tribute to Universal Horror classics. Campy, black and white, monsters, gore. I love it. I'd certainly watch more of it.

For what it is, it's a ton of campy horror fun that I never expected to see in the MCU. I could have easily watched a full length film centered around these characters, especially "Ted"! Really nice to see these much lesser appreciated horror inspired Marvel characters get some attention in a genuinely compelling, albeit short, story. The biggest drawbacks will only affect those who don't appreciate the cheesiness of the genre this special replicates, but if that's your thing, you'll love it!

Visually stunning homage to classic horror films, this Marvel Special Presentation is one of the best works so far within the MCU and creates a whole new area to explore. Very well made film from beginning to end and it being just under an hour truly helped streamline the story and make it the best it could be.

Fun style. Too short. But at least that means we get minimal MCU bullshit. Wish they'd had the guts to shoot this with practical effects so it actually looked more like the movies it's paying tribute to.

Fun to see Giacchino directing, and with a runtime just around one hour, it doesn't overstay its welcome, but despite the honourable attempt of capturing a classic Universal horror feel, it unfortunately has more of a TV show aesthetic to it.

Way more boring than it ought to be and pointlessly front-loaded with dull exposition that still left me wondering what the heck was going on. On the plus side, Giacchino’s score is fun (particularly the spooky spin on the Marvel logo), the violence is unexpectedly strong, and Harriet Sansom Harris is a pleasure as always.

I probably had too high set of expectations after seeing that the movie had reviews that were praising on how good this is. And I mean, it's not bad. I really enjoyed the black-and-white with the occasional splash of color and some of the scenes were set up wonderfully. Story-wise it just seemed very simple and basic, but fortunately it runs at a little bit less than an hour and it serves this kind of story the best. Maybe we will see more classic monster features like this in the near future?

The movie itself is mostly fun but holy hell the acting is atrocious. I'm thinking this is the way they will be introducing the darker Marvel characters in a lead up to the Blade film. Some people have complained about the effects but for me, I think they were fine for a TV production.

I knew this wouldn’t be particularly scary or gory (Multiverse of Madness is actually far gorier), but I do appreciate the experimentation with both the genre and the format. It does feel more like a Marvel film than an old cheesy horror, but the visuals and score add enough flavor to help it stand out a little. By no means groundbreaking, but I’d like to see more one-off specials from Marvel, perhaps leaning into the genre (and an MA rating) a bit more.

I did not expect to like a horror film based on Marvel especially since I’ve been getting superhero fatigue recently. Somehow, Giacchino made something I actually loved. I think the best thing about it is the atmosphere that is present from the very beginning. One minute of exposition and straight in. The cinematography is great, I really like the characters, and really it was just a lot of fun.

Werewolf By Night is one of the best works in MCU history, not just in its recent years. It took the best vibe from Universal's classic monsters franchise and successfully modernized it to the present day. Michael Giacchino's directing style satisfying with both aesthetic and action scenes. I loved this special so much.

As a fan of Marvel's 70s monster comics & old horror movies, this should be made for me, but... there's a little too much MCU in this for me to love it. And by MCU, I mean a little too much humor (these monsters shouldn't be jokes); too much goodness (being a monster here is only a problem because of others - ugh) & some inappropriate fight moments (werewolves should maul, not leg sweep). Still it's only an hour, looks great & has moments of throwback imagery & surprising, even gory violence

Meh... Nothing much to write home about. It was a bit too clean to be a real homage to the old style horror movies: the story is weak. the only memorable part was the bloodied camera sequence; and they got the Man-Thing right (though it was the same trick they did with Groot; this is what Marvel learned from Disney/Lucas, how to make non-talking characters likeable)

Ignoring the fact that hunters with decades of experience make absurdly dumb decisions that they shouldn't, this was kind of just boring? They shove in a lot of concepts that have little time to be explored and the way they shoved Elsa into this heroic role was eyerolling to say the least. The visual style was also not particularly good? The black and white filter came across as lazy and even made some scenes hard to read at times with the werewolf aesthetic looking god awful.

Apparently an homage to old time monster movies. Not sure what to think of this one, it's not really that entertaining but at least it doesn't drag along for three hours like the rest of the Marvel atrocities. It's a draw I guess

I don't know what I think of this one. It was kind of neat seeing more of the monster side of the Marvel Universe, but it felt like a very speedy introduction. Not to mention for as adept as all these hunters supposedly were, they didn't really put up nearly the fight you were expecting them to. Definitely wouldn't call it the best works of the MCU, but it was something a bit different and had a very different atmosphere than a lot of what preceded it.

Now I know why they usually make movies longer than just 50 minutes. There is hardly any buildup and you just start somewhere 'in the middle'. Way too much time is spent on unnecessary dialogue. It's never made clear why the movie is in black and white (and changed back into colour at the end), but I guess that was the only cool thing. The movie is very pointless and I guess I just missed the whole backstory, if there actually was any. Very boring. Acting was OK.

I never would have known this was a Marvel property if not for the logos in the beginning and end, and that is a point of praise. I can't believe they made an MCU product that wasn't saturated with flags for potential sequels and tie-ins with other Marvel characters. Just a nice self-contained short movie that feels like its own work.

Bu işte 1 terslik var sanki. Doğa üstü varlıkları yok eden Bloodstone madalyonu, 1 grup avcı tarafından müsabakaya çağırıp, kazanmaları istenir. İçlerinden biri, madalyonun eski sahibinin kızıdır. Madalyon kimin olacak? İlginç 1 konu. Bu Marvelım güzelim sen niye diğer filmlerin çalıp çurpup bize aktardın. Kendi filmlerinden bile aktardın. Yeni kısa filmlerinde değişiklikler bekliyoruz. Filmin sonunda, Kurt Adam. Atıl Kurt.

This has far more style than your average Marvel/Disney product. This could be enjoyed even without the universe connection just as an entertaining horror action movie. Phase 4 has been pretty disappointing movie-wise, but if this can still be called a movie, this is easily one of the high points.

The fun and retro aesthetic choice did make it feel fresh and the simple premise made it easy to get into. Bernal gives a likeable performance, but is outshone by his friend. It is a little too short (What an usual complaint these days), but the thing that really irked was the design of the werewolf itself and his fight scene. Giacchino delivers on a lot of fronts, but the thing super hero stuff should excel at - a superhero fighting - lacked the brutality and kineticism I was hoping for.
