Easy Money

I like Dangerfield, but this wasn't the best vehicle for his talents. Interesting cast, dull, uneven plot.

Viewed April 25, 2020. Rodney is very funny in this, but there's far too much nonsense in the script on account of its episodic structure, including a long and annoying subplot about Taylor Negron trying to take the virginity of Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Good, but not Caddyshack

Dangerfield is at his near slovenly best playing a wild and irresponsible family man whose life is fuelled by vice. Complaints often centre around the length of time taken for the central plot line to appear, but the early scenes of Dangerfield and Pesci slacking off have a joyful looseness that's enhanced by their obvious chemistry, and their characters, as well as their neighbourhood, have real blue collar appeal. This ultimately saves the film when the joke quality dips in the 3rd act.

Maybe not as funny as I remember it, but still, those memories are good.

Decent movie, passes the time. Plus you get to see Joe Pesci, what else could have I asked for?

Semi entertaining 80's comedy about Rod Dangerfield, a alcoholic, smoking womanizer who must straighten out for a year in order to get 10 million dollars. The script is predictable and slow. The laughs ( if any) are short , and the ending is just silly. Watch for a young Joe Pesci, soon to be the most bad ass gangster on screen in Good fellas and Casino.
