The fact that I could watch Brie do anything probably drives my enjoyment with this, because honestly, it's not that good. Very little of the humour works, and the mystery of this manager getaway is ends up drowning at one point where they basically give away the twist and you just sit there waiting for it to be revealed. I get that it kind of subverts the genre to some extent, but outside of Plaza and Brie, it felt so inconsequential. Yet I got a little enjoyment out of it, I'll give it a pass.

Funny enough to make up for a story that just spins its wheels and frankly makes no sense and has no stakes at all. An amazing supporting cast. Tim playing his character from ITYSL’s Game Night will always get a laugh from me. Molly Shannon, who I feel is a bit forgotten about these days, is hilarious. Zach Woods is in the zone here and kills every scene he’s in. Also, Alison Brie and Aubrey Plaza make out which would make this movie impossible to hate.

A movie that perfectly encapsulates why streaming was created. Stars (both former, current and rising) coming together with an average script and gassing it up with their talents. Wants to be a little more audacious than it actually is and the whole long big joke doesn’t have the best payoff but whatever I laughed a decent amount

Spin Me Round has a likeable cast, but the plot has a tendency to follow the most pointlessly nonsensical path (though shying away from absurdist). A few jokes land, but before settling on admitting it's a comedy, the film plays at being a romance and a mystery neither of with are particularly well done. Ultimately the film is just irritating, with Shannon's character being the epitome of this.

It had me gripped all the way through the Plaza/Brie love story, but then the film completely falls off the rails. It slides into absurdity and nonsensical thriller/horror. I know it speaks to the naivete of Bries character, but it just doesnt land. Seems like there was half a well written movie then a rush to get it done. I wish they would've gone another way completely.

A nice little comedy that subtly spoofs “serious” romantic tropes.

i expected it to go way darker and dirtier places, but only the finale got halfway there. there's some good character work, setups/payoffs and deadpan humor, though. good for a watch.

There were too many awkward boring stretches in this movie. I did however enjoy the beautiful main actress Alison Brie. The plot was meandering, and the cooking school sham was tedious at best. It's a one trick pony on the story. I particularly disliked the ridiculousness at the very end.

While “Spin Me Round” has some enjoyable moments and a strong central performance from Alison Brie, it ultimately falls short due to its lack of focus and clarity. The film’s attempts at satire are too broad and unfocused, and the supporting cast never quite comes together as an ensemble. While it may be worth a watch for fans of the genre, it’s not a standout example of romantic comedy or satire.
