This whole thing could have been summed up in 5 minutes. Did you find it buried in the desert, yes or no? Cool....let's move on.

If you're at all interested in 80s SUBurban legends, old school video games or the dopiest, least consequential conspiracy theories imaginable, this is manna from heaven. Even if you're not, there's a reason to watch this, and his name is Howard Scott Warshaw, a dynamo of a man whose zeal for life and pursuit of exciting and fulfilling work is palpably felt and may even be inspiring for some. Of course, it just reminds me that I possesses exactly zero of these wonderful traits. (mournful exhale)

Saved only by the interesting and charismatic interviews. The focus of the dig should have been five minutes, with the rest dissecting the meteoric crash after rising so quickly.

I wish the Atari crash ended video games forever.

Atari: Game Over is a slight watch, recounting an abridged history of Atari inter-cut with an adventure to dig up the Atari landfill. The former isn't particularly detailed and the resolution of the latter is a bit disappointing (they have to stop right before getting to the meat of the landfill). The real reason to watch this is the primary interviews with people actually close to Atari. Those firsthand anecdotes are the real gems.
